Senior citizens
All of us are a part of the society, even if we are kids, babies, adults or older people. The senior citizens don’t work anymore, they have retired, because they are older than 65 years old, so they don’t have any more a monthly salary, but a pension. They are using it to supply all that they need, like food, medicines or clothes. Usually senior citizens stay in the same house with their kids, taking care of their grandchildren.
They have worked for many years and supported both us, both the country, so now that they have retired, they deserve to be respected and also taking good care. Usually the senior citizens family is the one that is taking care of them, but there are some cases when for example their kids live in another country, or they are too busy with their work or their life. Maybe some of them don’t even have children. So we must put ourselves in the position of a senior citizen, which stays all alone all day long in his house. Maybe he is spending all that time in the park because he hopes to get some company. Maybe he loves so much his pet because he is the only that still stays near him. Of course that in the United States of America there are some locations where senior citizens can pay and stay there, and this way meet and chat with other senior citizens. They also get health care.
But we can’t forget that there are senior citizens that can’t forget to leave their home, or simply they just don’t want to leave their home. They also need care, because when you are older, it is easier to get all kind of health problems. Older people have usually bone diseases, they don’t see that well and also don’t hear well. But there are also cases when they are so sick, that they don’t even move from the bad, because they can’t. For those people social care will provide food, and many types even shelter, if they are so sick that they need to be treated in a hospital. But a person that is qualified can provide care for them at their home, being sure that they take their medicines. Also they shop their food and cook for them, bring them clothes or anything that they might need. It is importing to respect the senior citizens and try to stay in their company, because they have much more experience and we might even learn something from their wisdom.
